Cloud Migration
The overall goal for any company is to increase revenue and earnings; it is in this context that we have developed World Data’s CLOUD MIGRATION strategy. Cloud computing is a disruptive technology and organizations are keen to migrate to it. However, a solid migration strategy and clear benefits need to communicated. 1. MIGRATION METHODOLOGY
World Data has developed a methodology and tools for model-driven migration of all network and applications resources to a cloud based service-oriented architecture. The methodology encompasses the following tasks:

Migration Scope This is a document developed by World Data in close consultation with clients. This document outlines the current business strategy and goals of the company for the next couple of years, as well as the current set of IT resources and anticipated needs.

Cost/Benefit Analysis A detail cost/benefit analysis is performed to determine the priority of each migration phase, as well as, to determine the overall costs and benefits of the project.

Requirement Analysis Encompasses a detailed requirement analysis of the existing IT environment with a view to understand the applications to be migrated to the Cloud.

Migration The actual migration of each application is carried out based on a detailed migration plan that encompasses functionality, data integrity verification and full data migration.

Testing and deployment In the Go-live phase, the live production data for each application will be ported onto the Cloud. There is a parallel testing period, followed by post-migration testing and release. During this phase World Data provides a higher degree of monitoring and support to handle any unforeseen issues.

2. MIGRATION CONSIDERATIONS
All applications, as well as, its supporting network infrastructure is carefully understood and documented by World Data in a document called migration scope, before the migration onto the Cloud is initiated.
